As this is being written, floodwaters in some parts of our region are receding, while unfortunately, others haven’t even crested yet.  “Peculiar weather we’re havin’ ain’t it,” said the Lion to Dorothy.  Here’s hoping y’all got through the storms all right.

This is a special and important moment for our Society.  For years, online merchants have been selling items, and clothing with the Clan MacLeod Crest on it.  For all those years, Clan MacLeod Society has not seen any income from those vendors. We are changing that!  We have launched the MacLeod Merchandise and Apparel website.  The website can be accessed by simply by visiting our Clan MacLeod Society, USA website - http://www.clanmacleodusa.org/ and selecting the new link named:  Clan Merchandise and Apparel.  By selecting that link, a user will be directed to the site where they can purchase items, and have the MacLeod crest of their choice embroidered / silk screened on.  Missouri Valley Region members, Bob and Linda McLeod, who reside in Columbia, MO own and operate a business called Embroider It.  They will be the merchant who will be providing the goods, and service for this venture.  Every purchaser receives a 10% discount.  In addition, 5% of all purchases made on this site will go directly to Clan MacLeod Society, USA.  Make your Clan MacLeod merchandise purchases here!
While you’re at clanmacleod.org, please note that we now have the option of renewing our memberships online.  More MacLeod innovation!  Wonders never cease!

We’ve been getting feedback on the fledgling Gulf Central website.  Nice to hear from you.  Still looking for photos or news.
The official countdown to Parliament 2010 has begun.  I’ve heard from a few folks that are making plans to attend.  I hope to see you in Dunvegan—and I hope we can all get there & back around this volcanic disturbance.

Finally, let the Games begin in the Gulf Central Region!  The busy season begins now in Tennessee and Kentucky.  Hope to get out & about to see some of you.  The only update I’ve found for the North Alabama Scottish Games is they’re slated for October, so keep checking the Tennessee Valley Scottish Society website.
